STONE CARVING WORKSHOP - “PUGIN INSPIRED DECORATIVE RELIEF CARVING”
Following the success of last years course, Chris will this year base his course on Augustus J Pugin's Gothic interpretation of medieval carvings and enable students to successfully carve/create their own Medieval Beast, Celtic knot or Tudor Rose
A friendly and relaxed introduction to the basics of stone carving with Chris Pellett. No experience required and suitable for all ages and abilities.

There are no other formal workshops this year, but many artists will be there to meet visitors, some actually working alongside their exhibited artworks. Others will do informal demos.
Do feel free to ask them questions or simply enjoy watching!

Unless stated, the demos are on an ad-hoc basis and include:
Peta Parke-Gailey of Potty Moon will host pottery painting for children and adults during opening times. For a small sum, you can select your pottery, paint it and Peta will glaze it for you. It’s great fun and very creative!
Tess Deverill will demonstrate spinning and weaving techniques in the late
afternoons during the week and weekends. She is using a 2 shaft rug loom and
weaves with hand spun wool & rug wool. Her current thee is seascape rugs and
she is happy to discuss commissions.
Christine will demonstrate the use of indigo in a form of tie-dyeing, and produce some stunning results. Although she won't be using wet dyes, she will show participants see examples of the various stages and results. Christine will answer questions and can provide details of her future workshops.

Steve McDonald Steve will be available at weekends (except afternoon of 13th July) to answer questions on how to capture successful digital landscape images.
Visitors are welcome to walk round Michael Cruickshank’s studio and see work in progress
