Chris Shepherd My abstract paintings are all originals, painted in a contemporary style, using mainly oil and acrylic mediums. I am self taught and believe that paintings don’t have to be pretentious, profound or be full of hidden meanings. They are simply there to delight the viewer.
Jonathan Close is a landscape photographer who works with a high precision Linhof Technorama 617 camera and Fuji Velvia 50 film to capture unique and original panoramic images. Everything in the picture was there at the time of taking, captured with a single exposure and without the use of any filters.

Norman Starley I first started painting in the 1970's. Due to career commitments art was put to one side. Four years ago I picked up my brushes once again and since then I have expanded into other art mediums.
Rosalyn McGlone is a Textile Artist and Photographer. She specializes in creating hooked artworks using an assortment of fabrics producing colourful and tactile pieces. She photographs a variety of subjects that simply capture her eye from worldly travels to Sussex scenes.
Sheila Hay Having studied art at Willesden Art School, I went on to combine a career as a greetings card artist, along with free-lance design, particularly in floral work.
I now concentrate mainly on wildlife, both British & African, and paint animal portraits to commission.
Brenda Lowe I took up painting a few years ago while nursing my husband Bill, who had cancer. I was lucky to have an art teacher living a few doors away, who encouraged me. Watercolour is my favourite medium.
Roy Lee I am a self-taught artist specialising in people and animal portraits using all mediums. My other subjects include, seascapes, figure, aeronautical and automotive. This exhibition focuses on the female form.

Anne Acott After years of working in watercolour, acrylics and pastels my search for a new direction has led me towards oils and a range of mixed media including collage and embroidery.
Alan Taylor I started drawing as an interest on holidays and business trips. With guidance from adult education courses I started developing my drawings into paintings using acrylics and now water soluble oils.




Pat Selby My basic love is watercolour. I also experiment all the time by adding or using various other media to develop my own style, often following a theme – such as ‘Trees’.
Mike Vardon Since joining an art class two years ago I have worked with watercolours and acrylics. I am now experimenting with water-based oils and like the vivid colours and texture this medium offers.

Sue Petszaft This year my artistic endeavours have led me to water-based oils and acrylics. I find it exciting to learn how these media can be used and am enjoying tackling some larger canvases.
Etchingwood Art Group This group, established more than 10 years ago, originated in Chelwood Gate under the tutorship of the late Geoffrey Colbourne. Geoffrey encouraged us to do our own thing without strict rules and techniques being applied, allowing us to explore different styles and mediums. The group have fun, don’t take ourselves too seriously and enjoy learning from each other.



Michael Denne took up painting on retirement joining a small group taught by the
late Geoff Colbourne. Firstly experimenting with watercolours he has more recently
enjoyed working in pastels.
Pam Pincus is a Canadian born artist specialising in equestrian and animal paintings in a variety of mediums. She is a member of The Society of Equestrian Artists and has exhibited in London and Devon.Her work has been sold both in the UK and Internationally.
Sally Button Have been painting for a number of years with the Etchingham group, mainly in soft pastel and more recently in watercolour. Have covered a wide subject range, mostly from my own photographs.
John Button Began painting in oils three years ago having joined the group tutored by our late friend Geoffrey Colbourne.
I enjoy it immensely and hope to begin working outdoors this year.

Sophie Cadogan works in fine natural yarns including pure cotton to create a collection of Women’s Knitwear with unusual details such as beading and tassels. The cardigans are designed to drape the figure and are excellent for layering.
Anya Campbell is an editorial, portrait and wedding photographer but it is in photographing the countryside that her greatest passion lies. Based in rural Sussex, she is inspired by the landscape, people and animals around her.
Karen North-Row Since completing a Foundation in Art & Design last summer I have worked with mixed media and printmaking techniques, taking my inspiration from our natural environment. In particular, I am captivated by the beauty of ice and water.
Sarah Gauntlett I am a local artist with a passion for colour, painting mainly in the acrylic medium. Taking inspiration from nature’s rich tapestries woven with colour, the images I create are a journey of discovery aiming to uplift and enlighten.
Mike Tann In recent years I seem to have specialised in painting buildings and boats, but I still find time to indulge in more experimental art techniques. While I use acrylics as the basis of most of my paintings I also use a number of other media to complete the final effects.
Trudie Munn A self-taught artist. I am fascinated by the ever-changing colours and moods of nature, especially in the sky. I enjoy painting dramatic sunsets & sunrises and landscapes, particularly city skylines. I am also interested in Eastern imagery.
Mike Morton For this, my third Art Trail, along with traditional landscapes, I am exhibiting a different style (for me), of photography. Using Photoshop in a creative way, I hope to produce some vibrant, eye catching modern images.
Laura Morgan is a student photographer and artist. Her work is an eclectic mix of subject matter and style, more recently drawing on the human psyche of inspiration. She enjoys creating abstract work and using technology to manipulate and develop the image.
Julia Clarke I love covering big areas, mostly inspired by the amazing colours produced by the light on clouds, sunsets and sea. I paint in acrylic and use gold and silver to highlight.
Cliff Wright has over twenty years experience illustrating for children's books, magazines, posters and greetings cards. His books are published in the UK and abroad. In recent years he is best known for producing two of the Harry Potter book covers.

Australian wildlife photographer Andrea Sharp, now based in Sussex, has been travelling the world photographing stunning landscapes, wildlife and culture for over 20 years. Trekking through Peru to the lost city of Machu Picchu, which she says is one of the most spectacular sights she has ever seen is just one of her many adventures. She has experienced fear and danger, including being confronted by a Bull Elephant in the Masai Mara and heart-warming moments like holding a one-month old White Lion cub (one of the most endangered species of the big cats).
