Laura Morgan is an Art & Design student, experimenting with variety of media: collage, acrylic painting (some representational but mainly abstract images) photography and digital manipulation.
Her work is an eclectic mix of subject matter and media.
Liz Hankins (right) works as an illustrator and started painting and exhibiting her work in response to client commissions. Liz now works from her studio in Sharlands Farm, Blackboys, where she started Vision Gallery with photographer Robin Earl. Liz handles a variety of mediums, she loves the complexity and vibrancy of watercolour and also paints “en plein air” whenever possible. She focuses on the drama of light on the landscapes and also specialises in architecture.
Nicky Stoner (below) “I enjoy experimenting with different media and am currently using vibrant watercolours. I also like working in pastels and acrylics. I find inspiration in natural shapes and texture and in buildings.”
Claire Vardon “After studying traditional silversmithing for a number of years I have started producing jewellery using fine silver clay, which combined with semi-precious beads, is resulting in beautiful, unique necklaces and earrings.”
Anne Acott (left) “I have always loved creating pictures. I work in several media but my greatest love is watercolour. Inspired by most things, my favourite subjects are animals and people.”
Rosalyn McGlone (above) a Textile Artist and Photographer specialises in creating hooked and prodded rugs and wall hangings. She uses a diverse range of fabrics and materials, mainly re-cycled to produce very colourful and tactile artwork for the wall and floor. Her photographic images capture her passion for travel, nature and patterns.
Jenny Pellett (right) Working mainly to commission, Jenny specializes in animal portraiture, concentrating on individuality and character. A selection of originals, limited edition prints and 2009 calendars will be on display for you to browse and enjoy.
Sylvia Hassell “Splashing Austrian mountain streams and the fiery colours of a Hawaiian volcano are exciting additions to my collection of semi-abstract paintings inspired by memorable moments. Bold and atmospheric they frequently portray the rhythmic pattern of our natural world.”
Sarah Gauntlett (left) I am a full time mother of two and a part time artist. I enjoy experimenting with the effects of colour and how they alter moods. Combining abstract imagery over vibrant colours, I hope to produce pictures that draw the eye to look further into the picture, taking the viewer to a place they didn’t expect to be and feel better as a result of it.
Jane Eastwood (right) “I love the surprises of nature and landscape and like to create impressions of these working with colours, particularly acrylic and water colour, which I find really vibrant and liberating.“
The Chapman Brothers may have thrust the term Shock Art into the popular consciousness but it is under the less familiar banner FrockArt that seven female art graduates will be exhibiting in the 2008 Art Trail, following their success at Viva, Lewes in 2007.
Chrisa Cook “I trained in Art in the middle of my life and now domestic objects and recycling feature high on my agenda - this old chair takes on a new life when covered with images from the cover of Artist Newsletter.”
Marian Bray "Inspiration for my work lies in inner space, the unobserved qualities created from experience and memory, in response to which I endeavour to produce images to highlight hidden elements."
Moira McNair “Born in Scotland, but now settled in Sussex, I gained a B.A.(Hons) in Fine Art Painting from the University of Brighton. My current work is concerned with juxtaposing detailed, lifelike images of flowers against simplified, graphic renditions of containers. I often use rotted plant matter along with the oil paint in these studies of truth and illusion.”
Pauline Crook “I see something beautiful or comical, read or hear certain words , and glimpse a bit of Truth in the complexities of life - this is the starting point for all my work. I make 3D boxes, design and screen print fabrics, take photographs and paint.”
Roy Lee (above) ”I am a self-taught artist specialising in people and animal portraits. Using all mediums, my other subjects include figure, seascapes, automotive and aeronautical.”
