Mike Harvey-Penton, (above) now aged 66, failing eye sight, dentures, tendonitis, occasional gout, going deaf in one ear but still getting immense pleasure from photography and creating images on the computer. “If they give as much pleasure to others as they give to me I am a happy old wrinkly!” Mike has had major success in competitions and has had many pictures published in national magazines. Mike's motto is 'Let the image speak'.
Tess Deverill (above) ”I have been spinning and weaving rugs and hangings for 35 years, some are handspun from natural fleece and make excellent hearth rugs as they are naturally fire resistant, others are woven from carpet yarn where I blend colours to create subtle shades. I have recently been weaving rugs that are seascapes and can be hung or walked upon!”

Kathy Ovens. Kathy started painting when her son was at school - a long time ago. She enjoys working with pastel, landscapes and flowers being her favourite subjects. She sold some paintings last year, and would like a repeat performance!!

Christine Cooper (below) has been teaching art classes for local Adult Education for 10 years. She teaches a textile course at HCAT, Hastings. She studied art and design, followed by specialisms in ceramics and embroidery at ECAT (now Sussex Downs). She works in many media: watercolours, acrylics, pastels, charcoal and textiles. She enjoys landscapes, still life, pattern and abstract subjects.
